Re: The EPIC N9 anticipation thread
Any source about this? I thought the same, but on the premise that the N9 has the wl1271 chip, which is not confirmed (only mentioned on a leaked list of packages).

Re: The EPIC N9 anticipation thread
I know this isn't the answer you want, but I have to raise the point that Kontact Touch (http://dot.kde.org/2011/06/10/new-kontact-suite-brings-next-gen-groupware-desktop-and-mobile) will be a FOSS...

Some hardware questions:
Zehjotkah told us something like "you will not want the N950 because the N9 has some new patented technology". [ I can't find the exact quote, sorry, but too many comments...

About Adobe Flash support: my bet is that we will have some Flash support sooner or later. First, because it will not be hard for Adobe to add Flash. After all, Harmattan is plain Linux with X11, so...

I hope the following:
Harmattan unveiled.
The developer device launched.
Updates to the Qt SDK for the Harmattan target this same week.
S40 to be expanded (as said that tweet) to cover...

When I wrote my previous post, I already knew that the audience of the site is not "normal users". Is at least a group of users who know what free/open source software is, and at least some of the...

My bet would be that the OS is unveiled first running on the dev device, and maybe in the same week they unveil Qt Components tech preview or beta, plus an update to the Qt SDK to target Harmattan in...

Re: N9 hits FCC??? Nokia N9 Teaser Video
Want stuff to speculate about? What about a rumor about Samsung buying Nokia (http://online.wsj.com/article/BT-CO-20110608-706480.html)? Or Nokia's shares dropping even more today?

I am dead inside already!! :p
All the people in Nokia playing with their new toy is one thing, but the lucky ones that had it in their hands and are bragging about it here, is a different one. ;)

Your comparison is unfair, because this is not a "Nokia Internet Tablet". Is a device that initially was planned to be Nokia's flagship phone (<dreaming>if Nokia's Windows phones can't come in...

Lucky you that wanted the announcement as of yesterday. ;-)
I wanted to have the device in my hands in late 2010, and now we "know" that we will only have it on September 2011. That's too much...

Due to the huge size of the thread, I can't find it now, but IIRC, a user suggested that looking at the shots from the video, the UI seemed to react before the screen is touched, and K123 seemed to...

Re: N9 hits FCC??? Nokia N9 Teaser Video
The good thing about MeeGo/Harmattan is that Qt is the way to develop apps, so all the Qt applications for Symbian have to work with almost no effort in MeeGo.
Personally I'm quite excited to test...

Re: N9 hits FCC??? Nokia N9 Teaser Video
That's a good point. I think that Nokia developers involved in MeeGo are in general quite fond of open source, and don't like that the company is moving to WP, but that doesn't change the fact they...

Re: N9 hits FCC??? Nokia N9 Teaser Video
To me it makes some sense given that Quim Gil's talk was not approved. The Nokia device is not MeeGo, is Harmattan, so it doesn't make sense to give this device in a MeeGo conference.

Re: Nokia N9 Teaser - is this meego or harmattan?
I don't want people to leave, I want the thread to have the best signal to noise ratio. I think that both your point and the point stated by others is clear, and we don't need to repeat it over and...
